Chapter 5: Management Action to Maintain High Morale

Management should also take actions to maintain high morale.

Such actions should provide staff with a sense that:

• Their opinion and contributions are welcomed, valued, and recognized.
• The organization is willing to help improve their level of competency.
• There is opportunity for continuous improvement.
• They have a stake in the mission, goals and objectives of the organization.
• The organization's appraisal and reward systems are fair and consistent.
• The lines of communcation are open.
