Course Objectives

By the end of this course, NYSDOT employees will be able to:

1. Select their responsibility(s) in transportation security from a list
2. Identify potential risks, threats and vulnerabilities to NYSDOT transportation assets (personnel, equipment and infrastructure)
3. Identify common weapons and tactics used to threaten
4. Select strategies to reduce risks, threats, and vulnerabilities
5. Given various case scenarios, recognize suspicious objects and activities involving packages, devices, vehicles or people
6. Construct accurate descriptions of observations for reporting purposes
7. Correctly categorize given statements as either a DO or a DO NOT of transportation security
8. Given various case scenarios, select appropriate actions
