TSAT Course Summary and Agency Policy

You now are to have a heightened level of awareness regarding transportation security. Your top priority is to protect yourself. Calling 911 as necessary is supported. Contacting the proper authorities is strongly encouraged in any suspicious situation. You are to keep important security numbers updated and handy. Remember, your safety and security is of utmost importance to your employer, the New York State Department of Transportation.

Remember, the key to protecting America's transportation system is an alert and motivated workforce that understands how crucial it is for them to be the eyes, ears, and mouth of their organization. In regards to transportation security, your general responsibilities are to:




















  1. be aware and alert
  2. regularly perform work-area security sweeps
  3. recognize suspicious activity including phone calls, objects, vehicles and people
  4. safely observe suspicious activity
  5. accurately report suspicious activity
  6. know your role and act accordingly
